Do you Have fluoride toxicity? And how you can detoxify yourself of it!

Recently I had discovered that I had fluoride toxicity! Three years ago when I was pregnant with my son I had need of a very small filling, in fact it was so small at the side of my molar that I didn’t even need any local anesthetic.  This dentist knew my request for no fluoride in fact I didn’t even know that they put fluoride in the white fillings.  After the filling was done he then told me that he had to put a little of the fluoride in to stop the decay.  Well I was speechless, here I was 6 months pregnant, I had done everything to not have any toxins in my body, from eating only organic, using only organic body products, not using any plastics for my food, no aluminum, having a plumbed in water filter system that filtered all the water entering into the house, EVRYTHING! I had thought well its done I cant reverse it! What I didn’t know was that this filling slowly leaked fluoride into the body over time; it was another dentist that had informed me of that.


Why was I so devastated that I couldn’t sleep, especially when I was pregnant with our son?

A Harvard University funded by NIH (National Institutes of Health) (1) found that children who live in highly fluoridated areas have ‘significantly lower’ IQ scores than those in lower fluoridated areas.


A report from the US National Research Council (NRC 2006) (2) stated, “Fluoride may cause neurotoxicity in laboratory animals, including effects on learning and memory…” They state though their meta-analysis of 27 studies that high fluoride has an effect on children’s intelligence, that fluoride may be a developmental neurotoxicant and effects brain development.


Dentists and medical people still refuse to believe that there is a link between the 2 when cognitive decline in adults is on the increase and behavioural issues in children are too (ADD, ADHD, depression and learning disabilities) (3), when there are 23 human studies and 100 animal studies linking fluoride to brain damage, such as:


  • Reduction in nicoltinic acetylcholine receptors
  • Damage to your hippocampus
  • Formation of beta-amyloid plagues (Alzheimer’s disease)
  • Reduction in lipid content
  • Damage to purlinje cells
  • Exacerbation of lesions induced by iodine deficiency
  • Impaired antioxidant defense systems
  • Increased uptake of aluminum
  • Accumulation of fluoride in your pineal gland


Fluoride builds in the body over time to cause diseases, Lita Lee Ph.D. (4) writes in her book “Fluoride – A Modern Toxic Waste”, fluoride effects the body by:


  • Aging (collagen damage)
  • Skin rashes and acne
  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Osteoporosis

Suppresses the immune system by inhibiting movement of white blood cells by 70%


Other studies have shown fluoride toxicity causes (5,6,7,8):


  • Increased lead absorption
  • Hyperactivity or lethargy
  • Muscle disorders
  • Thyroid disease
  • Arthritis
  • Dementia
  • Bone fractures
  • Bone cancer
  • Inactivates 62 enzymes and inhibits more than 100
  • Inhibited formation of antibodies
  • Genetic damage and cell death
  • Increased tumor and cancer rate
  • Damaged sperm and increased infertility
  • Calcifies the pineal gland
  • Hardens the arteries



Even as far back as 1937 Dr. Dean Burk in an interview states that fluoridation of water equates to “public murder”


It’s not only in your water that you can be exposed to fluoride, it can also be found in:


  • Prescription drugs like Prozac
  • Swimming pools
  • Hot tubs
  • Conventional produce like lettuce
  • Commercial bread and bakery products
  • Beverages that are made with municipal water such as tea
  • Dental work and toothpaste
  • Teflon coated pots leak it into your food


Steps to detoxify your body from fluoride:


Minimize your exposure by:

  • Get plumbed in water filter system so that not only do you drink filtered water but you also bath in it
  • Change your toothpaste to an organic no fluoride toothpaste
  • Don’t let your dentist use fluoride in anything including fillings
  • Minimise your beverage intake such as tea, beer and wine when not at home
  • Don’t use Teflon coated pots, saucepans and frying pans
  • Eat homemade bread and bakery products


Detoxify your body from fluoride with iodine!


To get rid of fluoride out of the body you have to deal with it different to chelating with heavy metals, as fluoride isn’t a heavy metal it’s a halide in the same family as bromine and chlorine and perchlorate (9) (made from oxygen and chlorine), which all bind to iodine receptors in the body and displace iodine.  Loading the body with iodine displaces fluoride from the cell receptors and flushes it out in the urine (10).


The best source of iodine is seaweed such as wakame, nori, kombu (kelp), arame, and dulse.  One teaspoon of dulse has 750mcg of iodine the RDI is 150mcg.  Other good sources are:

  • Seafood (salmon, lobster, scallops, cod and shrimp)
  • Cranberries
  • Yogurt
  • Potatoes
  • Strawberries
  • Navy beans


When you detoxify you may get symptoms such as:

  • Headaches
  • Agitation
  • Palpitations
